TWERKING, NELSON MANDELA, "HOW TO TIE A TIE" WERE GOOGLE'S TOP SEARCHES OF 2013

 

 

 

 

Google unveiled its 13th annual Zeitgeist, a breakdown of around 1.2 trillion searches.

 

2013's top question?  "What is twerking?"

 

The year in search also included the birth of the royal baby, and the death of anti-apartheid icon Nelson Mandela.

 

Snapchat, DOMA, Molly and bitcoin were all terms that popped up regularly in news stories in 2013. Apparently people didn't know what they mean.
