The rumor mill was working overtime yesterday as reports that Paul Walker and his pal were involved in a street race right before the crash that killed them.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department the crash is being treated as a one-car accident, and NBC News is reporting that the Sheriff's Department ruled out drag racing as the cause of the accident.

NBC took to Twitter and said "Porsche traveling approx. 45 mph near curve where speed limit dropped to about 15 mph." The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is still investigating, but already has said speed was a factor.

A Sheriff's Department captain says that people they've interviewed so far have reported seeing only the red Porsche on the street. "The only eyewitnesses to come forward saw a single speeding car."

Paul Walker's sister on the street-racing rumor: 'It's a complete lie!'

Paul Walker's sister spoke out yesterday and says her family was devastated by 'lies' that the actor died while drag racing.

She said: "They were absolutely not racing, that's a complete lie. It hurts us when we hear these lies and it makes our grief worse and more painful. These are irresponsible allegations and people are trying to make out speed and racing was the reason for his death when it was just a terrible accident."

The Porsche may have been leaking some sort of fluid

There's no official word yet on what caused the horrific crash that killed Paul Walker and Roger Rodas, but sources close to Rodas' auto shop believe a steering fluid leak is to blame.

Their evidence:

• There were no skid marks until right before the point of impact, and the skid marks were straight, indicating Rodas lost steering control just before the crash.

• The fire spread quickly in the front of the vehicle—indicating a fluid leak, since typically the rear (where the engine is) would burn more quickly.

• They also say they saw evidence of a fluid trail leading up to the skid marks.

TMZ reported that the Porsche was acting up and kept stalling, so one of Rodas' employees was trying to get it back into the shop.

Producers decide to go ahead with the release of Paul Walker's film ‘Hours' in two weeks

Producers of ‘Hours', starring Paul Walker, say they're sticking to the planned release date of December 13.

The drama focused on Hurricane Katrina, and Paul is in every frame of the movie. Co-starring Genesis Rodriguez, the film follows Walker after hurricane that devastated New Orleans in 2005. Walker and Rodriguez play a couple about to become parents whose lives take a tragic turn when their baby is born with an illness during the chaos that came with Katrina.

Audiences in 15 select U.S. cities and video on demand viewers will be able to see the film starting December 13.
